VOLUNTEERS have had another successful year helping to keep the communities of Malton and Norton tidy.
Malton and North Tidy Group collected more than 170 bags of litter during 2013 through litter picking the streets and grass verges of the towns.
They also planted shrubs and flowers around the signs at the entrances to the two towns.
The group, which meets on the first Sunday of the month, has about a dozen volunteers, but would like more people to get involved.
The group’s next meeting is on Sunday, February 2, in St Nicholas Street car park, Norton, at 10am, and anyone interested in getting involved is invited to go along.
Members should take their own gloves and wear appropriate clothing.
