RYEDALE District Council has apologised to residents who incurred bank charges after their council tax was collected early.
Direct debit customers who pay their council tax instalments on the first day of the month will be reimbursed after an administrative error which resulted in collection being made from bank accounts two days early.
A spokesman for the council said: “Ryedale District Council unreservedly apologises for this matter.”
Any customers who have incurred bank charges as a result of this error should phone 01653 600666 extension 650 and advice will be given on reimbursement.
