TO coincide with the return of BBC Stargazing LIVE, Scarborough and Ryedale Astronomical Society is hosting a special evening in Dalby Forest to spot the planet Jupiter and its Galilean satellites, the moon and the constellations of Orion, Taurus, Gemini and Andromeda through a range of quality telescopes.

There will also be the chance to learn about the planets and the solar system at the event, which runs from 8pm to 10pm, on Saturday, January 11, in the Courtyard and the Community Resource Centre.

It is free to attend, although charitable donations are welcomed. No booking is required.

For more information visit www.scarborough-ryedale-as.org.uk or phone Andy Exton on 01723 50003.

BBC Stargazing LIVE will be hosted by Professor Brian Cox and Dara O Briain from January 7 to 9.
