A WOMAN suffered severe bruising when she was attacked in a North Yorkshire town.

The victim was targeted by two women who initially barged into her near the junction of North Marine Road and Clark Street in Scarborough at about 2.15am on December 27.

She challenged them and was knocked to the ground and assaulted. She was treated at hospital for her injuries.
