HUNDREDS of homes in the Ryedale area were left without power for up to six hours on Saturday.
A power cut affected 893 homes in the Flaxton area from about 6.20pm, after a high voltage network circuit breaker tripped out.
A spokesman for Northern Powergrid said the supplier had received 124 calls from residents about the failure.
Some homes had power restored by 10pm, but for safety reasons the power had to be switched off again at 11.30pm. Power was restored to all homes by 12.20am on Sunday.
