TWO Good Samaritans who stopped to help a badly injured van driver after a road accident have been urged to contact police.
The two women helped out when a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a black Mitsubishi L200 pick-up collided near the bottom of Sproxton bank, near Helmsley, at about 6.30pm on Thursday December 5.
North Yorkshire Police said the Mercedes driver, a man in his forties from the County Durham area, was taken to York Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
A spokesman said the Mitsubishi driver, a man in his thirties from the Helmsley area, was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries, but has since been discharged from hospital.
The two women or anyone else who witnessed the crash but has not yet come forward are being urged to call 101, select option 2 and ask for Traffic Constable Steve Wood, or email firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting incident number 12130210863.
