Scarborough care home asks Father Christmas for a rowing boat

Gazette & Herald: . .

A care home has put an unusual request on its Christmas list for Santa this year – a full-sized boat.

St Cecilia’s care home in Stepney Road, Scarborough, is asking Father Christmas to bring a small rowing boat to go alongside its beach chalet in its back garden.

It is looking for anyone who has one to donate it to the home to fulfil its Christmas wish.

Earlier this year St Cecilia’s converted its garden summer house into a beach chalet – complete with sand and deck chairs.

Now the home is appealing for donations of more beach objects – like a buckets and spades, driftwood, deck chairs, lobster pots, fishing nets, shells, stones, or buoys to make it even more authentic.

If anyone has any beach items they would like to donate, including a small boat, they are asked to phone 01723 340221 or 01723 503111.
