DEVELOPERS have submitted a third planning application for hundreds of new homes in Ryedale, as a High Court hearing looms over another of their schemes.

Gladman Developments Ltd was controversially granted permission for 260 homes at Westfield in Kirkbymoorside earlier this year, after a councillor and planning committee member who opposed the scheme inadvertently pressed the “approval” button on the electronic voting system.

The application was granted, but two claimants subsequently applied for a judicial review into the decision.

The High Court has allowed this review to be held, and if the claimants succeed the planning permission would be quashed and the council would debate the scheme again.

Gladman has now submitted a separate application for 225 homes at Kirkdale Road in Kirkbymoorside, which will go before the planning committee early next year.

The firm said 35 per cent of the Kirkdale Road homes would be affordable.
