COMMUNITIES on the Yorkshire coast are at risk of significant coastal flooding today, tonight and tomorrow because of gale- force northerly winds and high spring tides, experts from the Environment Agency and Met Office have warned.
Train operator East Coast is advising passengers to allow extra time to make their journeys today as stormy weather was expected to hit.
Motorists are urged take extra care with winds of up to 80mph forecast to hit the region.
The Met Office’s “amber warning” is in place between 2am and 4pm today.
