RYEDALE chef James Martin will put his antiques knowledge to the test in the new series of Antiques Road Trip, set to launch on Monday, November 4.
He is competing against former supermodel Jodie Kidd in an episode of the programme filmed in Surrey and Sussex.
The celebrities are given a budget of £400 and helped to track down hidden gems by an expert from Antiques Road Show, travelling around in a classic cars.
James, who runs the restaurant in The Talbot hotel in Malton, said: “I had a brilliant time antiques hunting and Philip’s expertise helped me track down lots of quirky pieces, including some fantastic kitchenalia. I have a real passion for fast cars, so zooming round the countryside in a Jaguar E-Type was pretty much my dream come true! I had some tough competition in Jodie but that’s all I’ll say for now. I hope viewers tune in to see the final result.”
