Pickering flood defence plans discussed
8:37am Saturday 19th October 2013 in News
FLOOD defence plans for Pickering are to be discussed by North Yorkshire County Councillors again.
The scheme for embankments along the Pickering Beck between the valley side and the North York Moors Railway has already been approved once by the county council’s planning committee, but has to be redebated now the district council has approved a local plan strategy. The NYMR has objected to the plans as construction would disrupt the railway, but planning officials have recommended councillors stick with their original decision to approve the scheme.
It will be discussed at a meeting of the Planning and Regulatory Functions Committee on Tuesday.
