Roads in Malton and Pickering to close during gas works

The Malton work is progressing well, with an estimated completion date towards the end of November.
It will be necessary to put a road closure in place in Wentworth Street from Monday. As the work progresses, the road closure will move into Princess Road, Newbiggin Street and Finkle Street.
Access will be maintained for shop deliveries and pedestrians, and diversion routes will be marked.
In Pickering, the company is replacing 1km of metal gas mains in the town centre. The work will start on Monday and will take an estimated six weeks to complete.
Road closures will be put in place in Bridge Street, Market Place, Willowgate, Birdgate and Smiddy Hill as the work progresses.
During the first phase of the work Bridge Street will be closed between Rose Inn and Park Street for about one week.
Market Place will be closed for about three weeks from Monday, October 28, and parking will be suspended during this time. Access will be maintained for deliveries, emergency services and pedestrians. Diversion routes will be marked.
As the work progresses, there will be road closures in Willowgate, Birdgate and Smiddy Hill. Parking in Smiddy Hill will be suspended while work is going on in the area. Drivers are advised to use Eastgate and The Ropery public car parks.
