40 jobs lost at Trac Lighting
8:39am Friday 11th October 2013 in News
MORE than 40 staff have been made redundant as administrators are appointed at Thirsk’s Trac Lighting.
The firm, which traded as Trac Lighting and Controls, but was registered as Trac Time Controls, is in the hands of administrators from KPMG after continuous losses.
After several months of unprofitable trading the directors appointed Howard Smith and Mark Firmin as joint administrators to pursue a sale of the business and assets, and manage its affairs.
The company, which manufactured and supplied industrial lighting, and also has an injection moulding division, employed 51 staff at its factory in Station Road, Thirsk.
Though some limited trading will be undertaken while the administrators market the business for sale, 42 employees have been made redundant, while the remaining nine assist the administrators.
