12:22pm Wednesday 2nd October 2013 in News
WORK to improve the road surface on the A64 between Sherburn and Staxton will take place for the next five weeks.
The work consists of two separate schemes – the first is located between Binnington and Staxton and will last for the next three weeks.
Traffic signals, convoy working and a reduced speed limit of 10mph will be in place overnight, 8pm-6am. The A64 between Main Street, Ganton, and the west side of the A64/B1249 (Beverley Gate) at Staxton, will also be closed from 8pm on October 4 until 6am on October 7.
The second scheme is located in Sherburn High Street and work will take place between Monday, October 14 and Sunday, November 3. Traffic signals, convoy working and a reduced speed limit of 10mph, will be in place overnight, 8pm-6am.
The work also requires the closure of the A64 from the east side of Sherburn (junction with St Hilda’s Road) to Woodside Road, Ganton, from 8pm on October 18 to 6am on October 21.
During the closures Coastliner will be altering their bus routes. Buses will turn off the A64 at West Knapton (the last stop being Winteringham Lane End), and then use the B1258 to Snainton, the A170 to East Ayton and the B1261 to Seamer picking up the normal service route at Seamer Roundabout. The reverse will apply on the route back from Scarborough.
