RYEDALE MP Anne McIntosh is supporting the Heritage Lottery Fund’s First World War Then and Now project.
The project provides funding to help groups, communities and organisations mark the centenary of conflict.
Miss McIntosh said: “The Heritage Lottery Fund is making at least £1 million per year available over the next six years to fund projects between £3,000 and £10,000 enabling communities to share and expand their understanding and knowledge of the First World War.
“Funding can be applied for to progress projects including researching First World War stories, restoring war memorials, running workshops to help young people uncover their First World War family history, create exhibitions, provide a better understanding of the conflict and reach out to those communities not usually involved with heritage.”
She added: “This project will help to better educate young people and communities about the First World War.”
