A FORMER Kirkbymoorside town clerk has dropped her employment tribunal case against the town council.
Sally Brown was sacked by the town council in May last year after reportedly walking out of a meeting the previous month.
Now the town council has confirmed the case she brought against them has been withdrawn.
Speaking in May 2012, Ms Brown said she was “disappointed” by the news that her employment with the town council had been terminated. She served as clerk for about 11 months. Four months before her appointment, the previous clerk had quit after 18 months in the job.
After her dismissal, Ms Brown announced plans to appeal the decision. An employment tribunal case for unfair dismissal, breach of contract and two other matters was brought.
Now the town council has confirmed the case has been dropped without a financial settlement.
In a statement, the town council said: “The council is pleased to confirm that Ms Brown has now withdrawn her employment tribunal claim against it.
“The council confirms that it made no payment to Ms Brown in return for her withdrawal.”
