A MALTON charity held a successful open morning to promote the range of social and practical help it offers Sight Support Ryedale, in Yorkersgate, held the event to demonstrate the support it provides for sight-impaired people.
Chief officer Janice Every said the charity made a real difference in Ryedale.
“We enable sight-impaired people to enjoy friendship, activities and trips out, while improving the quality of their life at home,” she said.
“Sight Support also offers a range of opportunities, such as social groups, yoga, walking, book group, craft activities – all specially tailored for people with reduced or no sight, and all supported by a team of helpful and understanding volunteers.”
Janice said the open morning had helped spread the word about the work of Sight Support Ryedale.
“We had a good morning with a number of interested people and were able to sell a couple of items from our resource centre, and also demonstrate specialist talking software for those who can no longer see the screen on their computer,” she said.
