Milestone for North York Moors Tourism Network
10:07am Tuesday 10th September 2013 in News
Businessmen and women in and around the national park are invited to celebrate the success of the North York Moors Tourism Network.
A free event on September 17 at the Helmsley offices of the North York Moors National Park Authority will launch four new promotional films about the area and encourage a debate about the future of the network.
The North York Moors Tourism Network, which was set up a year ago, now has more than 150 active members. Tourism, hospitality, creative and retail businesses can join for free by simply signing up.
Over the year members have attended free workshops and were given a free toolkit which included marketing tips, a booklet promoting the special places in the North York Moors area and more than 100 copyright-free images for businesses to use on their websites.
A key part of the project was asking businesses to identify the area’s most distinctive features, both well-known and hidden, and use these to encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more.
The celebratory event, from 1pm to 4pm, will include a light buffet prepared by one of the network’s members and a discussion about the body’s autumn programme.
