Parking blitz near North Yorkshire schools
9:39am Monday 9th September 2013 in News
A CRACKDOWN on parking near North Yorkshire schools is being launched with patrols being stepped up at the start and end of the day.
North Yorkshire County Council said the extra enforcement measures would be in place from the middle of this month after the authority took over responsibility for civil parking rules across the region earlier this year.
Almost 75 per cent of those who took part in a consultation agreed parking near schools was a problem, and Coun Gareth Dadd, executive member for highways, said: “We urge parents and carers who need to drive their children to school to think of the safety of others.”
