Trainees and volunteers dine out at charity’s barbecue
12:14pm Wednesday 4th September 2013 in News
Trainees and volunteers at a Ryedale charity recently enjoyed their summer barbecue.
Mr Wilf’s Café, which is part of The Wilf Ward Family Trust, is a charity providing social care services across Yorkshire and the North East. The Café and Roll With It sandwich round provides training and learning opportunities for 11 local people with learning disabilities.
Fiona Strachan, the newly-appointed resource manager at the centre based at Vivis House in Pickering, said: “We wanted to say a huge thank you to our team of trainees for all their hard work since the café opened last October. “We are especially proud that they have all successfully completed their catering and hospitality qualification. Our band of dedicated volunteers has also been fabulous by supporting trainees to prepare themselves for the world of work.”
