New owners at Beecham Health Foods
A COUPLE aiming for a healthier outlook have taken on one of Malton’s businesses.
Trish Fitzroy and Kevin Mulley have moved from London to run Beecham Health Foods in Yorkersgate, which is one of the few remaining independent health food shops in the area.
The couple have taken over from Ian Beecham who set up the store in 1983.
Trish, who has a background in business and retail, and Kevin, a former personal trainer, had been looking for a change of lifestyle when they came across the business.
“We wanted to get away from London and the noise and pollution and were thinking of setting up our own shop when we came across this one,” she said.
“We looked at the area and that really sold it to us and we put in an offer after our first visit.”
Trish said they were also very proud to be taking over such a respected business.
“We have definitely made the right decision and have been so impressed with the town, and how friendly everyone is,” she said.
“We are looking forward to running Beecham Health Foods for many years to come.”
Kevin’s life-long passion for all aspects of healthy living will add another dimension to the business. Future plans include expanding the health supplement range, as well as adding to the existing range of brands and products.
Mr Beecham said he was very proud to be handing over the business to Trish and Kevin.
“They are an experienced and enthusiastic couple who are keen to preserve the traditional shopping experience that so many of our customers enjoy,” he said.
“The handover is being helped enormously by our shop manager for the last 14 years who has done a sterling job.
“Trish and Kevin’s keen attention to customer service will consolidate the shop’s reputation as a place where a friendly smile and expert advice continue to be provided as standard. I wish them well for the future.”
