Wye Valley Axemen to ply their trade at Castle Howard arboretum festival
7:42am Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
CASTLE Howard Arboretum is to be welcome to a horde of heavily armed Welshmen to their Wild About Food Festival next month.
The Wye Valley Axemen will be at the arboretum on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15. It is the fifth time the event has taken place.
Visitors to the festival can get close to nature on a minibeast hunt, make a musical instrument, try building shelters, paddle coracles round the arboretum’s lake and have a go at archery.
The Wye Valley Axemen will be displaying their lumberjack skills each day, attacking chunks of timber and reduce them to wood chips and sawdust with their axes and saws.
There will also be live music and bird of prey displays, as well as food and drink.
The arboretum festival runs from 10am to 5pm on both days.
