Concern grows for missing man
CONCERNS are growing for a man who went missing from Scarborough District Hospital.
Geoffrey Griffiths, 66, from Sheffield, has not been seen since leaving the hospital, where he was being treated for a medical condition, at about 10.30am on Sunday.
He is described as being white, 5ft 9inches tall, with a medium build, short grey hair and a greying white goatee beard.
The last time Mr Griffiths was seen he was wearing a light grey polo shirt with dark horizontal stripes, over a white t-shirt, grey trousers and dark sandals. His legs are bandaged which makes it appear as though he is wearing white socks.
North Yorkshire Police said they are growing concerned for Mr Griffiths’ welfare, as he has serious health issues and is not believed to be in possession of his essential medication. They believe he could be anywhere in the country, and have asked the public for help locating him.
PC Vicky Mason, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Geoffrey, if you hear or see this appeal, I urge you to contact the police straight away, as we need to confirm that you are safe and well. I am also asking anyone who may have seen Mr Griffiths since he was last seen, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information on Mr Griffiths’ whereabouts should should contact police on 101.
