ORGANISERS are making final preparations for Scarborough’s Armed Forces Day, which will include a display by the RAF Red Arrows.
The event, on Saturday, will see thousands of people gather from noon, when the Band of the Yorkshire Volunteers will begin proceedings.
A display by the RAF Typhoons will take place at 1pm, followed by a 20-minute display by the RAF Red Arrows at 2pm.
There will also be a flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, including a Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster Bomber, with events taking place throughout the day.
A service of thanksgiving will be held by Rev Martyn Dunning, Vicar of Scarborough, at 4.45pm, before the Town Crier will give three cheers to the Armed Forces, and a final flypast from the RAF Sea King helicopter at 5pm.
