Praise for Gazette & Herald's minor injuries unit campaign

RYEDALE MP Anne McIntosh has welcomed the decision by the new Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group to carry out a consultation on the future of the minor injuries unit at Malton Hospital.

Praising the Gazette & Herald’s campaign on the issue, the MP for Thirsk and Malton said: “This is exactly what local people have been asking for. Everyone has campaigned hard for this to happen.”

A series of public events and a survey are to held in the next few weeks to enable people to have their say.

• Ryedale District Council leader Coun Linda Cowling (Con) praised Coun Lindsay Burr (Lib Dem) for her work in campaigning to save minor injuries unit services at Malton Hospital at the authority’s meeting last Thursday.
