Changes to payments for council services in Ryedale
8:35am Tuesday 12th March 2013 in News
RESIDENTS in Ryedale will have a new way of paying bills for council services next month.
From April 1, they will be able to use PayPoints and post offices in the district to pay council bills, allowing the business to be carried out at more than 35 locations.
Direct debits, internet and telephone payments will still be possible, as will those made in person at Ryedale District Council’s Malton offices.
Angela Jones, the council’s business support officer, said: “As part of our ongoing efforts to provide more cost-effective and efficient services for residents, we have added these facilities to our range of payment methods.”
“Most of the PayPoint locations are available between 7am and 10pm, allowing even more convenient facilities for residents than we have previously provided.”
From April 1, all bills issued by the council will feature a barcode allowing payment to be made at PayPoints and post offices, where residents can scan the bills into machines in the same way as supermarket self-payment facilities.
