RYEDALE manufacturer, Ellis has received a substantial order for work on the Sydney rail network, which is currently being upgraded.
The multi-million dollar project, which is being managed by Novo Rail Alliance, involves using Ellis cable cleats to secure cables being installed in a tunnel that runs from the Argyle substation at the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the new Art Gallery substation on the east side of the city’s Botanic Gardens.
The three-kilometre stretch of tunnel is being upgraded at a cost of about £27 million and is due for completion later this year.
Ellis, which is based in Rillington, near Malton, secured the contract through its Australian distributor, IPD Industrial Products, based in Sydney.
