Blitz on drivers parking on verges

COUNCILLORS in Pickering have declared war on motorists who park on grass verges.
Members are calling on the police and North Yorkshire County Council’s highways department to clamp down on drivers after complaints by the public.
The council also wants action on the speed humps in Middleton Road after two members, Couns Margaret Lowe and Mal Danks, complained that they were damaging the underside of cars, despite motorists driving over them carefully and slowly.
They each added that their vehicles had suffered damage.
