FAIRTRADE produce from across the world will be on display alongside local crafts at an event on Saturday.
Organised by the Malton and Norton Fairtrade group, the fair will feature Fairtrade and local craft stalls, with many craftspeople demonstrating their skills.
Janice Gwilliam, from the group, said: “We will have a range of crafts for sale, from textiles, cane weaving, pottery, toy making, woodcrafts, weaving and knitting with local wool to wire making, a local artist, jewellery and clothes.
“The Fairtrade items come from all over the world and most of the local crafts are made within about 10 miles of Malton.
“We will also be selling Fairtrade rice, as part of a Yorkshire Fairtrade challenge to sell a tonne of rice across the region in Fairtrade Fortnight.” The fair will be held at the Friends’ Meeting House in Greengate, Malton, 10am-4pm. Admission is free and light refreshments will be available.
