Most pupils in North Yorkshire get first-choice school

THIS year more than nine out of ten parents got their child into their first choice of secondary school in North Yorkshire.

All children have received an offer of a school place with more than 93 per cent getting their preferred school and more than 98 per cent were accepted into one of their preferred choices.

Coun Arthur Barker, North Yorkshire’s executive member for schools, said: “Once again, this is good news for North Yorkshire. We are delighted that so many of our families have been able to gain their first preference from their choice of schools.”
