Ryedale gears up for veterans' charity rugby match

THE whole community in Ryedale is getting behind a huge fundraising drive for the MS Society today, organisers say.
A veterans’ rugby match is due to be staged at Terrington Hall School, near Malton, at 2.30pm, followed later by a charity auction at the Stone Trough Inn at Kirkham Abbey.
MS sufferer Nina Aldrich, of Whitwell-on-the-Hill, who is staging the events with her husband, Marcus, said they believed several hundred spectators might turn up to the match and hoped all the events combined might raise a total of £10,000.
“The whole community in Ryedale is getting behind it,” she said.
“Everyone is talking about it.”
