MARIE Curie Cancer Care fundraisers in Ryedale are getting ready to head out for their annual Daffodil Collection.

The Pickering and Thornton-le- Dale fundraising group will be collecting cash for the appeal next month, which last year raised £6.68 million nationwide.

Collections take place in Pickering Market Place on Saturday, around Thornton-le- Dale on Sunday and the Co-operative Store, Hungate, Pickering, on Friday, March 8.

Pickering’s deputy mayor Susan Cowan said: “I am happy to help with the Daffodil Appeal collections as a great friend was helped by Marie Curie.

“The charity supports the whole family as well as the person being cared for.”
