Talks proposed to discuss Kirkbymoorside town signs
11:25am Wednesday 27th February 2013 in News
DISCUSSIONS are to take place between Kirkbymoorside Town Council and the town’s Business Partnership about providing new Welcome to Kirkbymoorside signs at the entrances to the town.
The local Rotary Club had offered to sponsor some signs but council members felt it would not be appropriate to have signs which included the words “Helmsley and District Rotary Club”.
Although there has been a slogan dubbing the town as the gateway to the moors, they were also wary of a suggested design which included a gate.
Mayor Coun Chris Dowie pointed out at the council’s meeting last week that suggestions had been made by the Business Partnership and proposed there should be a meeting with them while also approaching a local signwriter to draw up some ideas.
