YOUNG people took on a series of “jungle” challenges at the weekend to raise funds for their youth group.
Hope Central in Castlegate, Malton, hosted a X:Talk Raise It Weekend to help fund the work of the club and future trips.
The event kicked off on Friday with a show entitled “I’m A Celebrity, You Will Want To Get Out of Here!”.
On Saturday, the youngsters took part in a day of fundraising based on the theme of the reality TV show.
The youngsters faced various challenges during the day, including Dizzy Mummy, Dunny Challenge, Don’t Know What It Is But It Tastes Good, Bug-a-roo Bonza and Bean and Rice Challenge.
Mel Benson, Hope Central administrator, said: “So far we have collected £430 and one of the young people, Shannon Swift, raised £105.90 from her sponsorship money which we thought was an amazing effort on her part.”
X:Talk Youth Group takes place at Hope Central during term-time on a Tuesdays, 7.30pm-9pm, as a drop-in on a Friday, 4pm-6pm, and as X:Talk lunch clubs at Norton College on Monday and Malton School on Tuesday.
