Woman charged with seaside murder

A WOMAN has been charged with murder following the death of a man in North Yorkshire.
Rebecca Dormer, 22, was arrested after a 32-year-old Gareth Brian Matthews died after suffering serious chest injuries in Spring Hill Court, Whitby, on Friday.
Officers were granted more time to question her and she was charged today.
Dormer, of Spring Hill Court, Whitby, appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court to answer the murder charge this afternoon. She has been remanded in custody and will reappear at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday.
A 24-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released without further police action.
Mr Matthews, also of Spring Hill Court, was pronounced dead by ambulance staff called to the scene at 11.25pm on Friday.
