Greenlight given for farm wind turbines

TWO planning applications for wind turbines have been given the go-ahead by Ryedale District Council.

A turbine at Manor Farm, Main Road, Weaverthorpe, will have an overall height of 34.2 metres, while two turbines at Allison Wold Farm, Simon Howe, Sherburn, will have a height of 44 metres.

All the turbines are intended to generate electricity for on-farm use, members of the council’s planning committee were told.
