Work to improve footways and drainage on the A64 in Rillington, near Malton, will begin on Monday and will last for four weeks.
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation and it may be necessary at times to close Sands Lane and Pine Tree Avenue where they join the A64.
Depending on the nature of the work, it is expected to take place between 9.30am and 4pm, and 8pm and 6am each day. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place.
