Call for singers to sign up to choral union

FANS of Gareth Malone’s The Choir are being invited to join a Ryedale group which is about to start its spring session.
Ryedale Choral Union is a mixed group of people with varying musical abilities.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Some have the ability to read music, some not, some able to pitch a note, some not, but under the encouraging guidance of the choirmaster David Shaw we undertake various pieces of music during the year and enjoy ourselves in the process. Unlike The Choir, you will not have a nerve-racking audition, just a warm welcome and a cup of tea.”
The group meets on Fridays, 7.30pm-9.30pm, at Pickering Methodist Church. For details, phone Kate on 01751 477340.
