Change of location for council services in Whitby

SCARBOROUGH Borough Council services in Whitby are to be moved to a new location to help the authority save money.
The Benefits & Housing Options service will be available at the JobCentre Plus in Bobbies Bank from February 7, while Customer First services will be based at the Tourist Information Centre from February 18.
The changes will see the Skinner Street offices close later this year, and the future of the building is yet to be decided, but a council spokesman said the authority needed to make about £2.6 million in savings in the next financial year, so it would likely either be sold or rented out.
