A GROUP of Malton posties are continuing their bare-legged challenge despite the freezing temperatures.

The five workmates have agreed to wear shorts to work until the end of January to raise funds for Ryedale Special Families. With just over a week to go, they are having a final push towards their target of £1,500.

Andy Summers, from Bulmer, came up with the idea to thank the charity for the support it has given his family.

He said: “We have done previous fundraisers for Ryedale Special Families which is such a fantastic charity.

“As a family we don’t know what we would do without them.”

The postmen taking part in the challenge are Paul Ballantyne, Chris Cooke, Clive Mills, Barry Hood, and Michael Allen, along with Andy.

“I wear shorts every year but it has been particularly cold recently and it has been quite a challenge,” said Andy.

“So far we have raised £1,275 but it would be nice to get it up to £1,500 by the end of the month.”
