Boots donated to Green Steps walking group
11:21am Wednesday 23rd January 2013 in News
A WALKING group has received a fantastic response to its appeal for pairs of boots to support members through winter.
Following a recent article in the Gazette & Herald, a number of boots have been donated to Green Steps, the weekly walking group run by Next Steps in Norton, a resource centre supporting adults with mental health issues.
Walk leader Bridget Robinson Clark, said: “We have had already a fantastic response from people, with a lady calling in just as we returned to Next Steps from a walk.
“It’s so heart warming to see such generosity, sometimes all you have to do is ask.
“I would like to say thank-you to all who have been so generous already and would still like to appeal for boots, particularly ladies boots sizes 6 and 7.”
Donated boots can be left at Trailblazer Outdoors, 17 Market Place, Pickering or Next Steps, 7 Church Street, Norton.
Anyone interested in going along to the Green Steps walking group please contact Next Steps.
New walkers are always welcome. For more information, phone 01653 690854 or visit www.nextstepsryedale.co.uk
