Me2 card encourages Ryedale residents to get more active

David Hannah, chief exective, and Jodie Nicholson, leisure attendant, launch Community Leisure’s loyalty card at Ryedale Pool
A NEW loyalty card has been launched to encourage people in Ryedale to get more active.
Community Leisure Ltd, which operates Derwent Swimming Pool in Norton and the pool and leisure centre in Pickering, said the ‘me2’ was available to all users, not just members.
David Hannah, Community Leisure chief executive, said they are aiming to encourage as many people as possible to carry the me2 card which will give them points for every visit made to one of the sites.
“Points can be redeemed for any product or service the company offers,” he said.
“Me2 will also give cardholder-only access to promotions, discounts and special offers to increase value for money to regular users.”
David said they appreciated the loyalty of their customers and this would help to deliver added value to them.
“The timing of the card is important because Community Leisure has held prices for more than three years in recognition of the difficulty the economic downturn has caused.
“Our headline tariffs will, however, go up on April 1 but cardholders will not be affected by this increase. It will always be financially beneficial to be a me2 cardholder, especially families.”
David said there would be a nominal charge of £2 per card which will come loaded with £1 in points.
“The other £1 will be donated to our chosen charity, Ryedale Special Families,” he said.
“We are hoping that this link between the card, our customers and Ryedale Special Families will stimulate more sporting challenges in aid of the charity.”
David said Community Leisure and Ryedale Special Families would, in April, be hoping to build on last year’s very successful swimathon which raised more than £7,500.
“Cardholders will be given priority access to this event and medals, tshirts and goody bags will be on offer to me2 holders who take part,” he said.
“Ultimately, the aim of Community Leisure is to get ‘More People, More Active, More Often’. We have created a number of new courses and classes to increase the scope of what we do.
“From babies in the pool to indoor cycling, kettlebells, boot camps and climbing there is something for everybody.”
