A CRUISE and fashion show evening raised £1,000 for Helmsley Arts Centre.

Organised by local businesses Spear Travels and Pennita Fashions, the event was held at The Feathers Hotel in Helmsley.

Libby Cookson, director of Spear Travels, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed teaming up with Pennita for a fun night of fashion and cruising while raising a fabulous amount of money for a very worthy local cause. It was the perfect way to celebrate Helmsley becoming the latest branch in our company.”

Penny Wilshire-Brudenell, owner of Pennita Fashions in Helmsley, said: “Everyone had a great night and we are delighted we raised so much money for the Helmsley Arts Centre. Following such a success we are already planning future charity nights.”
