A REWARD of £800 is being offered by a theft victim who had three expensive mountain bikes stolen from an outbuilding at his North Yorkshire home.

The sum is offered after burglars struck at the man’s house on Main Street in Fadmoor, near Kirkbymoorside, taking a Scott Spark 20, an Airborne Mosquito and a Specialized Rockhopper, with a total value of £8000.

The incident happened overnight between December 20 and 21. A reward is offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible.

PC Andrew Pomfret, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If anyone saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the burglary, I urge you to get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

“The victim is understandably keen to have his bikes returned to him and is even prepared to offer a reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible.

“Any information could be vital to the investigation and I would also like to hear from you if you have been offered these bikes for sale.”

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Andrew Pomfret or Malton police. Callers are asked to quote reference number 12120214291 when passing information about this incident.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
