James Martin: Cook, not diner
FANS of TV chef James Martin hoping to win a romantic dinner with the local personality could be in for a disappointment as the prize has been changed.
Instead, the winner of the competition will share a dinner at the Talbot, Malton, with their partner or a friend, while James prepares and cooks the meal, greets the diners and spends time chatting with the couple.
The competition is organised by the We Love Malton team as part of the Talbot’s Valentine’s weekend, when everyone attending cooking demonstrations with the chef will be entered in the draw.
Tom Naylor-Leyland, of We Love Malton, said: “We have altered the prize as we felt, on reflection, that it would make for a much more relaxed and special evening if the winner could share the experience with a friend or partner.
“James will be able to greet the guests and make sure everything thing is perfect in the kitchen, as well as relaxing at the table with our winner.
“We appreciate some people may be disappointed with the change to the prize offered but we are sure the winners will have an evening to remember – and some people will even prefer this amended prize.”
