PUPILS at Lady Lumley’s School in Pickering took time out from their usual routine to take part in a whole school curriculum day.

The idea behind the WSCD is to get students involved in a variety of different activities and challenges.

Year 7 took part in a PE session involving break-dancing, while pupils in Year 10 were set a maths challenge.

Some students took part in a workshop looking at the Holocaust while others looked at personal safety issues including drugs and drink.

Deputy headteacher Lorraine Phippen said all the pupils taking part had worked off-timetable for the day.

She said: “It gives the school the opportunity to move away from the regular timetable and give students the opportunity to try different challenges for the day.”
