Pub upgrade plan to meet new guidelines

A RYEDALE pub and restaurant could be in line for an upgrade after its owners said they would be forced to make changes to ensure it meets local and national guidelines.

Proposals for a new building next to the Queen’s Head in Amotherby, to house cold storage and food preparation areas, four staff bedrooms and other facilities, have been drawn up.

Derwent Vale Building Services, the agents for the scheme, said in a statement to Ryedale District Council that the building was needed to ensure the business complies with environmental health rules.

The application also includes 24 extra parking spaces at the rear of the Main Street restaurant.

The owners of the Queen’s Head said customers were currently using a neighbouring business’s car park because the pub did not have enough space, and traffic-calming measures which are planned for the village could reduce street-parking and worsen the issue.

Well done The Queens Head always looking to improve their excellent reputation. I hope The Talbot have improved on their woeful hygiene rating of 1- major improvement necessary - (out of a possible 5) as stated on the Food Standards Agency website.

Check the website out. Its always useful to know the hygiene standards of local establishments.

Couldn't agree more.
Good for the Queens head, shame on the Fitzwilliam owned Talbot!

And yes this is the NEW Talbot not the old run down one. Having recommended that family stay at the Talbot numerous times since the reopening i'm sure they wont be staying there again once they see this and I certainly wont recommend them again till they prove they have improved.
