MALTON and Norton Musical Theatre company is appealing for someone to take on the role of the rear end of a donkey for their forthcoming pantomime Cinderella.

They were left with two legs short following a mishap on a mountain bike by the person chosen for the role.

Chairman Ian Goring said: “Unfortunately, the lady filling the role damaged her back in a fall from her mountain bike and because of the requirement to bend quite a bit, she has had to revert to a role in the chorus.

“We’re hoping that someone else will step forward, but we must stress that whoever it is, they must be prepared to make an ass of themselves.”

Cinderella will be performed at The Milton Rooms in Malton from Friday, January 18 to Saturday, January 26.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions and are on sale now at Malton Tourist Information centre, which is situated in Malton Library.
