ATTEMPTS to turn a patch of land in Whitby into a town green look set to fail.
Local resident Susan Grimoldby first applied for three acres of recreational land at Castle Park housing estate to be declared a green in 2009 in order to prevent the site being redeveloped. But a non-statutory public inquiry has now recommended the bid be rejected.
Councilors have been advised to go accept the inquiry’s recommendation.
