A North Yorkshire brewery is celebrating after winning a listing in 91 Sainsbury’s stores throughout Yorkshire.
Hunmanby-based Wold Top Brewery’s blonde continental- style beer Wold Gold has been listed as part of a focus on regionality after successful Sainsburys initiatives in Scotland and the south-west.
Tom Mellor, of the brewery, said: “We have been working hard recently to promote our beers throughout Yorkshire and beyond, so we’re naturally very pleased to have secured this listing and applaud Sainsbury’s initiative to showcase great local products in local stores.”
Other Yorkshire companies to be listed include Toppings Pies, of Doncaster, Mercer Jams and Chutneys from Wheldrake, Sheffield-based Yorkshire Crisps and Saltaire, Cropton and Daleside breweries.
The Yorkshire listing follows a temporary national listing for Wold Top Brewery’s Scarborough Fair IPA as a finalist in the Great British Beer Hunt earlier in the year.
